Middle East Girls Do It Better

Image
The Sisters: Alice, Nadine and Farah When you start being a blogger, you have to invest in search, know everything first, share the information and interpret the way that it fits your blog. Lately I have been finding a lot about the middle eastern girl's style, looks, fashion queens and stores. It's amazing the way they dress, lots of blood colors, not afraid to be different, embracing fashion in a really cool, modern way. Truly inspirational! The Sisters is a reality show, they call it the Lebanon Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Actually I find it funnier. Who presented this girls to me was the co-founder  of The Follow Affair, M. We love their style, it's super fresh, comfortable but not forgetting to look fabulous, even with sneakers. It's hard to choose just one sister, all their style is very different but so awesome. Another middle eastern girl that I find super inspirational, I already made a post about her t-shirts, is the graphic designer and the fabu...

Alber Elbaz in Dubai Part II

Image
Last week  I told you about the anticipated visit of the creative director of Lanvin to Dubai, where he staged a private presentation of the brand's signature pieces and also the capsule collection that has been created exclusively for the region. Now I have the photos (from Buro24/7 Middle East). The collection exhales a mix of French and Arabic styles, even in the decoration you get that sense of fusion of east and west, the perfect balance. Long flowing gowns and embroidered jumpsuits and jackets, were seen on this collection. Love the red long flowing coat, beautiful with those fringes and the detail of the rope. xoxo, A

Reem Juan

Image
The other day I was looking at photos of the Game of Thrones actresses in the red carpet and was stunned by Maisie Williams wearing a beautiful mint mini dress. I had to found out who was the designer but the search was hard and I couldn't find out. Until today, when Reem Juan started following me on Instagram and I found out this stunning mini dress was design by this amazing designer. I love finding new designers! Instantly I started searching about the brand and the designer. She established her own label back in 2010, trained at the London College of Fashion and worked for the Japanese designer Michiko Koshino. Reed Juan is born and raised in Abu Dhabi, studied at ESMOD Fashion Institute, Dubai before continuing her training at London College of Fashion. I love her dresses, the sense of romance you get from looking at them, the beautiful well designed details give the clothes a modern twist, for the modern woman to wear them for an amazing cocktail party or to a weddin...

Today on The Dubai Mall, the Lanvin store got a special visit from the Creative Director of luxury French fashion house, Alber Elbaz. Alber Elbaz has moroccan roots, so he is presenting his creastions exclusively made for The Middle East. They also plan to host a cocktail party for the local press and other personalities. I which I was there leaving, meeting Mr. Elbaz, questioning him, getting an exclusive look at this collection. I bought a t-shirt from his collaboration with H&M in Dubai, it's a little big on me but I adore it. Instagram pictures @thedubaimall The brand celebrated its 125th anniversary last year with a Jeanne Lanvin retrospective at the Palais Galliera — which is currently still on display — and many other activities. Tell me if there's any girl that could say no to a blue ribbon Lanvin box! Yes, please, I'll take that box home. xoxo, A

Shopping in Dubai: Mall of the Emirates

Image
I miss Dubai, the shoppings, the hotels, the beach, the multiple cultures you can find in one city. It's a great city, in the beginning it's hard to get used to the culture difference, to the heat and to the movement of a city that like any other, never sleeps. One of my shopping places was the Mall of Emirates, and this year this amazing shopping mall will celebrate it's 10th year anniversary, it's a decade of being the premier shopping destination in the region. How much I miss the trip to go shopping to Mall of Emirates, traveling in the Sheikh Zayed Road, so big, so fantastic, there's nothing like it. I visited Dubai a lot, spending 2 to 3 months there but never went to Ski Dubai, and go crazy in the snow while outside it was so hot your own skin could melt. Any brand you need can be found in this mall, from Accessorize to Yves Saint Laurent, from luxurious brands to high street brands,  if you want a department store you have 5 to choose from....

Wish List

Going crazy to buy this book! Only on Amazon.uk I found a good price for this IT book! I miss the my Dubai Giant Bookstore, KINOKUNIYA , I would lose myself in it. Here in Portugal, international books are very few, so every time I traveled to Dubai I would spend a lot of time and money in books and my luggage was so heavy that I was always scared that my fancy new clothes wouldn't come with me. xoxo, A

Strike A Pose... You're In Vogue Café

Image
Hello Followers, I have been busy with exams and studying, boring stuff, and I wasn't able to come here and write. Since 2008, Dubai is one of my vacation spots every summer. The mixing of the Occident and Orient traditions makes Dubai look like the perfect place to be happy, like in a Fairy Tale. All the famous brand have a spot in Dubai, from cafés to clothes, everything you need can be found in there.  To had more glamour to this city, on May 30, Vogue opened a café in Dubai Mall, you can find it within the Shoe District. What better way to enjoy a coffee is there in the world?! Shoes and Coffee!!! On the opening you could find models (of course) -Karolina Kurkova, Petra Nemcova, Bianca Balti - and even a football player - Didier Drogba.
